Journal, day one
Things are really weird right now -- even for us.
Aidan and I were helping Aunt Arafel go after Icingdeath, the chimera that'd been ravaging the duchy of the Lady's Hand. We went into the Dreaming through the duchess' trod, and made our way to the thing's lair.
Icingdeath was awake, but we weren't *too* worried -- after all, we had two knights and a sorceress, with the power of right behind us.
We didn't do too badly against the chimera, but just as Aunt Arafel was about to swing the final blow, the Fichlis hit. When Aidan and I could see again, we were...someplace else, with Aunt Arafel nowhere to be found.
That's when Hylas showed up. He's a satyr, and not a bad piece of work if you ask me -- even if he *does* think he's still in ancient Greece.
Shortly after that, a mounted eshu name of Zara came by and hooked up with the three of us. We all agreed that, given her kith's reputation, she was probably the best one to point out our path.
Well, no one ever said that following an eshu wasn't interesting. We hadn't gone too far when we found another eshu, only this one was being chased by about three horse-sized spiders -- think Shelob, or maybe Aragog. Between them, Hylas and brother dear made short work of the spiders, though Aidan's going to get himself *killed* if he keeps letting the Scathach Curse take him over so completely. Really need to talk to him about that...
Anyway, the new eshu is named Aya. I think Aidan might fancy her -- I saw the way he kept looking at her when she introduced herself. :) Aya was so grateful to us that she decided to join our little group too. Not that I mind -- she's a sweetheart, and maybe if Aidan has someone to relax with he won't be *quite* so twitchy about certain things.
Zara's found a village off a ways, so we're off. I'll write more later.
